Minutes of meetings from the Aborigines Protection Board. Minutes for 1887-1891 and 1893-1898 are missing and believed to no longer exist.
During the period for which the minutes have been preserved, meetings were held at irregular intervals of one or two weeks. The paragraphs are numbered consecutively throughout the volume, from 1 to 855.
Subjects dealt with in the minutes include the appointment of native protectors, relief, contracts and apprenticeships, inquests and requests from religious bodies for financial support of their missions. The minutes also contain reports from Resident or Police Magistrates pertaining to native trials and convictions.
