Series Description  This series consists of letterbooks of the Comptroller General, containing copies of outwards letters written by the Comptroller General to various officials including the Governor, Colonial Secretary, Resident Magistrates, Superintendent of Fremantle Prison, etc. In most cases, a copy of the complete letter has been written into the letterbook although in some cases, the letterbooks contain only an extract of outwards letters. This series also includes one memoranda book for the Comptroller General's office (1882-1886) and for the Inspector of Prisons' office (1886-1892).
