Series Description  General files covering the functions of the Public Works Department. Many consignments tend to be concerned with one particular aspect of those functions, e.g. public buildings, water supply and sewerage, school sites, building of police stations, schools, hospitals, etc.

With the abolition of the Public Works Department in 1984 files from this series were distributed to other agencies which took up the functions.
